I am in the process of testing the IBM Notes Browser Plug-in for possible deployment and use in our environment.  However, because I can not get the NBP to work with our locked down configuration of IE, I changed tack and decided to see if it would work with Firefox.  Low and behold, it does, and it works pretty darn well.  I was very happy about this as it at least allows me to test configuration options and settings.  Then I ran into a problem that I can not explain.

When you install the NBP, it creates an icon on the Windows desktop labeled "IBM Notes Browser Plug-in".  Double-clicking on this icon will launch the default browser and open the notes:home URL.  Knowing that this would not work right now, I decided to use the following NOTES.INI setting to change this behavior so that it would open Firefox instead.  The line is "NOTES_PLUGIN_DEFAULT_BROWSER=Firefox".  The new expected behavior would be for Firefox to launch and for the notes:home URL to be opened.  NOTE:  I am able to manually launch Firefox and use the notes:home URL to launch the NBP process.  Also, the NBP is enabled under Extensions.  So it was quite a surprise when I went to double click on the "IBM Notes Browser Plug-in" icon on the Windows desktop and I got the following error.

NBP w/Firefox error message.

Any clues as to why I would be getting this error?  It certainly does not make sense to me as I can plainly see the Extension and that it is enabled, and that it works perfectly if I launch Firefox manually and enter the URL myself.

Many thanks in advance...

P.S.  If you have any information on using the NBP with a locked down IE configuration that would be helpful as well.
